Inorganic Analysis

This laboratory is well-equipped with highly sophisticated instrumentation for the necessary chemical as well as bacteriological analyses.  Different chemical procedures such as Spectroscopy, Distillation, Electrometric, ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma-optical emission spectrometry), discrete analyzers (Aquakem, Konelab) used for nutrient analysis (Chloride, Fluoride, Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, Otrho-Phosphate), ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometer) this instrument is used for metal analysis.  Because of the mass spectrometer as detector the ICP/MS is a very sensitive instrument that can detect very low concentrations (parts per billion) which makes it ideal for rare metal analysis.

ICP-MS

This instrument is used for metal analysis. Because of the mass spectrometer as detector the ICP/MS is a very sensitive instrument that can detect very low concentrations which makes it ideal for rare metal analysis. As Regen Waters has two they are backups to each other preventing any delays in sample analysis.

Agilent 5110 ICP-OES

This state of the art instrument is very sensitive and used for metal analysis. The ICP 8300 and the Agilent ICP are backups to each other to prevent any delays in analysis when maintenance or unforeseen breakdowns occur.

Discrete analyzers

This instruments are used for nutrient analysis (Chloride, Fluoride, Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, Otrho-Phosphate). They have the capability of performing up to 1600 analysis per day. The Aquakem and the Konelab performs automatic dilutions for over range samples thus eliminating the need for later dilutions and thus completing entire analysis sets in one segment.
